Baby Boy Cowboy Boots
Baby Boy Cowboy Boots have been around for a long period of time. That being said, they do tend to differ a great deal from traditional cowboy boot. Traditional cowboy boots were designed for equestrian uses, but of course this is not what baby boy cowboy boots are used for. Baby boy cowboy boots are more about comfort and style than their actual function. Being designed for babies essentially means they are meant to look like the traditional boot, but have their own unique feel about them.
Cowboy boots were originally designed as a riding boot. They needed to be strong to offer plenty of support, but they also needed to be durable as well. Generally, these boots would be made from cowhide, as this material was readily available. Over time, other materials such as goatskin and also snake skin were also used, simply because they were readily available as well. The materials used in baby boy cowboy boots do vary a great deal. A lot of these boots use suede or sheepskin, as this makes them extremely soft. These boots tend to be fairly expensive, so alternatives made of faux (fake) sheepskin and suede have come into production. This allows babies to have replicas that are comfy for a fairly small price.
Even though baby boy cowboy boots are slightly different to traditional boots, they still come in the two different styles. Cowboys started off using the Western style boots, which had a tall structure designed to offer extensive support. The Roper boot came after the Western style boot, as the cowboy boots became more of a fashion icon than a boot used for riding purposes.
Regardless of which type of boot is used, there are still some distinct differences between normal boots and baby boots. Each style is generally available in a small medium or large fit. Choosing the size will depend on the baby's stage of development.
Alongside this a lot of the traditional features are cut back to make the baby boy cowboy boots a lot more comfortable. Instead of using a traditional high heel, the heel is cut back to almost nothing to ensure that the baby can walk easily. Of course, the pointy toe is replaced by a much more comfy rounded toe.
The soles of traditional boots were not particularly sticky. This means that when walking, people did not have a lot of grip. Nowadays, baby boy cowboy boots have a different material on the sole, usually a variation of soft rubber, which offers immense amounts of grip. This helps a baby a lot, especially when they are learning to walk.
One of the last major differences is the fastening systems. A traditional boot would rely on the loose leather structure to keep the boots fitted. Baby boy cowboy boots tend to be a slightly tighter fit, otherwise they will incorporate laces or fasteners to keep them on at all times.
