Authentic Cowboy Boots
Authentic Cowboy Boots are products that are much harder to find these days. Many manufacturers are producing cowboy boots, with a slight twist to make them more comfortable yet authentic cowboy boots are totally different to many that can be seen on sale today. They tend to have an extremely high structure that keeps the boots in place, without the use of laces. They also have a very pointed toe and a high heel.
Traditionally, authentic cowboy boots would be produced on a handmade basis using cowhide leather. In rough terrain, cowboys would use whatever materials they could to produce strong and durable boots that would be used for riding horses. Sometimes the nearest material would be buffalo, other times it would be cowhide.
Authentic cowboy boots were something that was essential to cowboys for many years. They were first used in the 16th century and over time, they were developed to be more practical when it came to riding their horses, and this is what produced authentic cowboy boots. Even though they were popular with cowboys in the 17th century, it was long after until they became popular world wide. It was not until the 19th century that authentic cowboy boots were being imported and exported globally.
Authentic cowboy boots are considered to be "Western". The Western design incorporated the usual features like the pointy toe, high heel and tall structure. Since then though, there have been some variations produced such as the Roper. The Roper boot has a smaller heel which makes them easier to walk in. They also have a shorter structure which reduces weight and a rounded toe which increases the comfort. The designs have also been altered to make them more fashionable.
Luckily, those people that are still looking for authentic cowboy boots can still get hold of them. These consumers need to realize that authentic cowboy boots were used for riding so they can be fairly uncomfortable if you do a lot of walking in them. Those people that want the next best thing to authentic cowboy boots, but want to actually walk in them on a regular basis will be much better off with a Roper style boot.
